Derek Mills stars in movie with Dr John Gray and Jack Canfield

Derek Mills, known to many as The Standards Guy®, stars in the personal development movie, “The Keeper of the Keys,” alongside Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul), John Gray (Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus), and Marci Shimoff (Happy For No Reason).

The film, which is produced by the Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau and TwoBirds, Inc. in association with Movies From the Heart, focuses on a fictional character’s financial and relational challenges during difficult times and is being directed by revered industry veteran Scott Cervine.

The story is based upon a fictional character who has become a victim of his circumstances; he has been laid off after 14 years on the job, and now his house is in foreclosure. He has become so negative that his fiancée breaks up with him. He is literally “down and out.” A spiritual guide appears and leads him through a “Magical Mansion” where experts gather to help him by sharing their personal stories and recommendations. He comes to realize that he actually has more control over his situation than he thought, and he discovers how to claim his power. The viewers are along for the ride of their lives – and will be able to see how they, too, can become empowered.

According to producer Robin Jay, “The movie will deliver a wide array of entertaining, engaging, funny, and moving stories that will empower each viewer to live the life of their dreams. Jack, Marci and John were each stand-outs in the blockbuster personal development movie, ‘The Secret,’ and I am delighted to bring them together again in this powerful film.”

“The Keeper of the Keys has been described as Harry Potter meets The Secret.  It is a FUNNY, FUN, engaging personal development movie that is aimed at empowering the viewers. The movie features experts from around the globe offering their own, unique experiences to help people find greater fulfillment, satisfaction, and joy in their lives.”

The movie was shot on several locations throughout Las Vegas and California and has a distinctive, surreal look. It is sure to be a hit not just with fans of personal development, but with people from all walks who are looking for answers to living a quality life – even when faced with today’s unique challenges

“It’s absolutely humbling to have been asked to participate in this endeavor,” says Derek. “To work alongside some of the personal development industry’s most respected teachers and be given the opportunity to positively affect millions of lives by introducing them to the power of setting Standards to accelerate the success process – is an honor and a privilege.”

‘The Keeper of the Keys’ red-carpet premiere was held at the Brenden Theatre at the Palms Hotel Casino Resort in Las Vegas December 2011.
